So I had an idea yesterday for a series of photos. I was thinking about flames, due to one of ^
hellfirediva's journals and of course I' a pyromaniac, so whenever omeone mentions flames or anything that produces flames (other than bombs) I tend to day dream. Then I remembered an awesome Chem prac I did last year (and the year before that mind you), about how when adding different metal solutions to a flame it changes the colour of the flame. So came the idea about doing a series of photos of the different coloured flames.
Then I stumbled across the problem. How am I going to get the metal solutions. I as thinking of using:
barium chloride
calcium chloride
copper(II) sulphate
lead(II) nitrate
potassium nitrate
sodium chloride
to cover a whole range of colours from orange to green and blue. Unfortunetly I doubt I can just get them anywhere.
I wonder if I could convince my Chem teacher to have some small samples of those solutions...or not...I might have to investigate further...dammit, I hate research...
